Francisco García Pavón es un escritor
y crítico literario nacido en Tomelloso
en 1919 que fallece en Madrid en
1989. Su novela Las hermanas coloradas
está protagonizada por Plinio, el
jefe de la Policía Local de Tomelloso,
un personaje creado por García Pavón que aparece
en múltiples novelas y relatos cortos de
este autor (más de veinte, incluidas recopilaciones),
y que llegó a ser muy popular tras emitirse
en 1971 una serie de televisión centrada en las
aventuras de Plinio, protagonizada por el actor
Antonio Casal.
