La formación de postgrado en España presenta actualmente dos direcciones definidas: Los estudios de doctorado y los programas Master. Los primeros se corresponden con una formación tradicional, fundamentalmente de carácter público, necesarias por exigencias legales para acceder al cuerpo de profesores universitarios, aunque también son seguidos por algunas personas interesadas fundamentalmente en su desarrollo personal, aunque su valoración en el ámbito laboral privado es muy Iimitada.
